Inside Sales Representative - Estimator
Doman’s sales force is comprised of Inside Sales Representatives, Commodity Traders, and Account Managers.
As the Inside Sales Representative (ISR) is one of three key customer facing positions, the ISR plays a primary role in creating the first impressions for excellent customer service and laying the groundwork for a successful order by ensuring order accuracy, verifying order details with the customer, efficiently entering the orders in the system, and relaying vital information to operations team members.The ISR also has the ability to increase sales revenue, order by order.
The Inside Sales Representative takes on a generalist function and is comfortable selling engineered wood products, siding, decking, railing, as well as all other building material product lines. Our customers range in size from small independent lumber yards to regional building material dealers, national home improvement chains, and industrial and OEM customers.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
The Inside Sales Representative reports to the Inside Sales Supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Inside Sales Responsibilities- Work with the Sales Specialist - EWP to deliver and maintain programs and services.
- Support customer relationships within an established dealer network using exceptional service skills and proactive sales techniques.
- Respond accurately and efficiently to orders received by telephone, fax or e-mail using the company's computerized ordering system.
- Monitor EWP inventory levels and communicate upcoming customer needs to the Purchaser.
- Assist with customer inquiries regarding product availability and delivery information.
- Work as a liaison between the customer and all internal departments.
- Prompt and accurate entry of credits and returns.
- Read technical project documents, including plans and specifications for EWP and exterior siding.
- Review the list of materials and prepare quotations required for these projects.
- Prepare take-offs and estimates for customer projects.
- Plan EWP cuts and coordinate the cut schedules with Operations.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES
Sales- Excellent customer service skills and professional telephone manner.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate customer needs.
- Comfortable with conducting outbound phone calls to existing customers.
- Minimum three years of sales experience.
- The ability to read blueprints and experience with CAD and Planswift software are assets.
- Able to quickly learn technical information specific to the building industry.
- Working knowledge of wood frame residential construction is an asset.
- Must be highly organized with strong analytical skills.
- Self-motivated, collaborative and take a proactive approach to meeting customer needs.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with an ability to influence sales over the phone.
- Proficient with Excel, Word, and Outlook; good keyboarding and computer skills.
- Aptitude for numerical calculations.
- Excellent knowledge of French is a job requirement.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is a job requirement.
- High school graduation is a requirement.
- Formal sales training is desirable.
