WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Technology Strategy function is at the center of establishing and executing technology strategy as well as monitoring and reporting on strategy. This primary mandate of this function includes leading development and execution of CCBPT technology strategy, driving enterprise-wide strategic initiatives, supporting development of technology strategy for Global Payments and Commercial Credit and Cash Management and leading the Strategic PMO office by monitoring and reporting on strategic initiatives, targets, and goals.

As Director of Technology Strategy, you will be responsible for leading the Technology Strategy organization and managing the development and execution of strategy in Commercial, Core Banking, and Payments Technology in RBC. You will be working with both technology and business senior executives and senior leaders in defining and driving new strategic vision, addressing strategic challenges, leading enterprise-wide strategic initiatives for CCBPT, and driving the strategic PMO office by defining, monitoring, and reporting on strategic initiatives, KPIs, and goals.

You will lead and drive special strategic initiatives that are deemed important to achieve the enterprise goals.

This role is reporting to Senior Director of Strategy, Risk, and Business Operations but it will have direct and frequent engagement with Executive Vice President and his direct reports as a critical central leadership role in the COO organization in Commercial, Core Banking, and Payments Technology.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
  • Lead a team of 1 to 4 technology strategists (Managers and Senior Managers) to drive various strategic initiatives, including developing technology strategy plans, scope, approach, roadmaps for CCBPT
  • Establish and lead Strategic PMO office to define, monitor, and report on strategic initiatives, goals, metrics, and KPIs across CCBPT
  • Collaborate cross horizontally with various senior executives and leaders to provide subject matter expertise and act as a strategic advisor
  • Develop executive level materials for senior executives, C-suite, and Board
  • Partner with various senior leaders across enterprise to drive enterprise wide strategic initiatives and activities
  • Lead different executive meetings ion a frequent basis to key strategic topics and initiatives
  • Lead development and execution of strategic offsites and other senior leadership sessions by creating content and engaging external subject matter experts / consulting firms
  • Drive thought leadership and benchmarking in various technology topics and trends

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have
  • 7+ years of work experience in Technology Strategy with a top-tier consulting firm
  • 7+ years of experience in Technology and Financial Services / Banking
  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, computer science, or technology related fields
  • MBA or other comparable and professional degrees
  • Strong business acumen, with demonstrated aptitude for strategic, analytical, and critical thinking
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, influencing, and relationship building skills
  • Experience in working with senior executive level stakeholders to lead discussions and meetings
  • 7+ years of work experience in Technology Strategy with a top-tier consulting firm
  • 7+ years of experience in Technology and Financial Services / Banking
