Job Description The Business Operations Consultant (BOC) is an expert financial analyst that provides leadership and support across the organization particularly in the areas of financial reporting, variance analysis, financial planning and budgeting. This role is responsible for coordinating the evaluation and analysis of corporate and programmatic performance data. A BOC supports a portfolio of programs within the organization by providing thoughtful and constructive guidance and reporting around a variety of financial performance issues including, but not limited to:
  • financial planning, financial reporting guidelines; benchmarking and efficiency analyses; statistics and key performance indicators. This position also adds value through knowledge building, bringing into the organization external information in the areas of performance measurement and financial reporting and recommending how the organization can integrate these and ensure optimal performance. Perform financial analysis of departmental financial and statistical data, including sensitivity, costing, rate/volume, and scenario analysis, Develop business plans in cooperation with Program Directors Develop and utilize tools to analyze costs, activity, and trend information Assist with the preparation of Ministry of Health financial and statistical reporting submissions Lead Directors and Managers through the development of their operating budget, including identification of key risks and opportunities Prepare and verify internal and external financial and statistical reports Coordinate cost tracking and reporting for special projects Understand Ministry of Health financial and statistical reporting rules and funding formulas Represent Financial Planning and Reporting on operation and program subcommittees Utilize financial and reporting software systems such as Meditech, Budman, Power BI and Excel Qualifications Halton Healthcare endeavors to hire individuals who are competent in their chosen profession and who exemplify our mission, vision and values of accountability, respect and compassion which guide our individual behaviours and attitudes.
Undergraduate degree with a professional accounting designation (CPA) required Minimum three years of work experience as an accountant or financial analyst required Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required Demonstrated success working independently as a self
  • starter, the ability to prioritize workload, and to function in a changing and sometimes demanding work environment.

Proven ability to confidently communicate effectively by conveying straightforward and understandable explanations and rationale in a professional and respectful manner to all levels of management, including Senior Executives.

Proven ability to focus effort on meeting customers' needs and expectations and monitoring delivery to ensure the client is receiving the service that they need.
Demonstrated strong analytical ability with advanced skill and insight to gather and sort key information to identify, analyze, and solve a problem in support of an individual, group, department, or organization objective.

Ability to apply systematic, logical reasoning when addressing problems or situations in order to arrive at an appropriate solution or outcome; strong business acumen.

Satisfactory employment and attendance record Additional Information Site : Hybrid, primarily Oakville when onsite.

Will require travel to other hospital sites as needed Status : Permanent Full-time Hours: Monday to Friday
