We are looking for a Junior Electrical Designer/Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to work on a full-time basis to take multiple projects from the conceptual stage to the detailed design stage.
Ziyutec Inc. is a multidisciplinary engineering company servicing provinces and territories across Canada. Ziyutec has successfully delivered hundreds of projects since its inception in Ontario in 2012.

Job Summary

The Junior Electrical Designer/EIT will report to the Electrical Engineering Manager and work collaboratively with other electrical designers and engineers. The ideal candidate must have a good understanding of technical design and project management skills.

The individual should also be a self-starter with good decision-making skills.

This position will be based at our Richmond Head Office.
Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical engineering feasibility studies for building lighting/power/fire alarm systems under a senior engineer's supervision
  • Prepare project documentation, including drawings, specifications, schedules, and estimates
  • Prepare system layouts, details, single-line diagrams, riser diagrams, and building schedules
  • Perform load, lighting, voltage drop, and fault calculations
  • Conduct site surveys and inspections
  • Complete ad-hoc tasks assigned by direct supervisor/manager
About you
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 1-3 years of experience in lighting, power, fire alarm, communication, security, A/V, and PA system design
  • Knowledge of the CEC, BCBC, ASHRAE, NFPA, CSA, ULC, NEMA, TIA/EIA, IEEE, etc.
  • Proficient with Auto CAD, MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
  • Experience in project management and coordination
  • Exceptional communication and organization skills
  • Experience in instrumentation, controls, and commissioning is an asset
  • Comfortable working individually and in a team
  • Detail-oriented and good work ethic
  • EIT or P. Eng. registration in BC is preferred

Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
