Junior Electrical Designer/Engineer-in-Training

We are looking for a Junior Electrical Designer/Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to work on a full-time basis to take multiple projects from the conceptual stage to the detailed design stage.

Job Summary
The Junior Electrical Designer/EIT will report to the Electrical Engineering Manager and work collaboratively with other electrical designers and engineers. The ideal candidate must have a good understanding of technical design and project management skills.The individual should also be a self-starter with good decision-making skills.
This position will be based at our Richmond Head Office.Responsibilities
- Perform electrical engineering feasibility studies for building lighting/power/fire alarm systems under a senior engineer's supervision
- Prepare project documentation, including drawings, specifications, schedules, and estimates
- Prepare system layouts, details, single-line diagrams, riser diagrams, and building schedules
- Perform load, lighting, voltage drop, and fault calculations
- Conduct site surveys and inspections
- Complete ad-hoc tasks assigned by direct supervisor/manager
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 1-3 years of experience in lighting, power, fire alarm, communication, security, A/V, and PA system design
- Knowledge of the CEC, BCBC, ASHRAE, NFPA, CSA, ULC, NEMA, TIA/EIA, IEEE, etc.
- Proficient with Auto CAD, MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
- Experience in project management and coordination
- Exceptional communication and organization skills
- Experience in instrumentation, controls, and commissioning is an asset
- Comfortable working individually and in a team
- Detail-oriented and good work ethic
- EIT or P. Eng. registration in BC is preferred
- Salary will be commensurate with experience
