The Opportunity
Nelson’s Classroom Success team is actively seeking a French Classroom Success Specialist (CSS). In this contract, part-time role, you’ll empower French-language and bilingual educators to implement the Edwin platform into their professional practice.
You will deliver dynamic professional development in French, support one-on-one coaching and webinars, and engage meaningfully within the Edwin Professional Learning Community (PLC).
Work assignments vary in scope and can be matched to your availability and expertise, ranging from 10-25 hours weekly.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality virtual and in-person sessions in French to introduce Edwin and other platforms to French and French Immersion teachers, with a focus on classroom implementation and best practices.
- Offer real-time consulting and coaching on lesson planning, assessment tools, and platform integration, for both English and French immersion.
- Participate in Edwin onboarding training and ongoing internal learning webinars.
- Arrange and conduct pre-session interviews with Nelson team leads to determine focus and session goals.
- Prepare thoroughly using provided materials (e.g., PowerPoints, guides, and digital supports) tailored to each session’s needs.
- Maintain an active presence in the Edwin PLC and engage with educators online.
- Ensure customer surveys and internal feedback forms are completed following every session.
- Support the development of classroom-ready French-language resources such as lesson plans and curriculum maps.
- Fluent in French (spoken and written); able to deliver presentations and coaching sessions in French.
- Provincially Certified Teacher credentials.
- Excellent presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Passionate about supporting French-language educators through professional learning.
- Tech-savvy with confidence using digital learning tools.
- Ability to work both virtually and in-person (occasional travel required; travel is optional).
- Reliable transportation and flexibility for daytime or after-school hours.
- Hourly remuneration of $72/hr for:
- Training and preparation
- Virtual and on-site educator training sessions
- Session summaries and surveys
- Mileage reimbursements for business-related travel over 30 km (one way)
