What is the opportunity?
The RBC Dominion Securities Thurlow branch in downtown Vancouver is seeking a talented, self-directed Associate Advisor to join one of our Executive Council teams. You will work as a Relationship Manager providing customized financial planning advice and wealth management strategies to High-Net-Worth (HNW) clients.
As an integral team member, you will collaborate and work closely with an experienced Senior Portfolio Manager and a dedicated team of 5. This role is ideal for someone with a background in wealth management or financial planning, looking to deepen their client relationship skills.This is an on-site, in-office position based in Vancouver.
What will you do?- Provide primary relationship support for a select group of HNW clients, delivering bespoke financial planning and wealth management strategies.
- Work closely with the Senior Portfolio Manager, and RBC planning experts (Financial Planning, Estate Planning, Business Owner Planning, Charitable Planning, Insurance Planning, and others) to deliver tailored advice.
- Liaise with HNW clients’ professional advisors to ensure the execution of financial planning and wealth management strategies.
- Coordinate client meetings, events, follow-ups, preparing agendas and relevant documentation.
- Provide proactive advice and support to clients, resolving inquires efficiently and identifying opportunities for asset consolidation and new business.
- Partner with wealth management specialists to deliver holistic financial solutions.
- Develop and manage the service plan for ongoing financial advice and client relationships.
- Foster a collaborative work environment that inspires innovation and creativity.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have- At least 5 years of experience in the securities or wealth management industry, ideally with
- HNW clients and at least 2 years in client-facing roles such as financial planning or associate advisory.
- Strong knowledge of investments and financial strategies.
- Valid Securities License (Registered Representative/Investment Advisor category).
- Professional designation (CFA, CPA, CFP, PFP, CIM).
- First-class client service skills with a client-focused approach.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Disciplined, process-driven mindset.
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
- Resident of the BC Lower Mainland and legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Proven experience managing relationships with high-net-worth clients.
- Ability to identify and drive business growth opportunities.
- Passion for capital markets and financial planning.
- Experience working with Salesforce or other CRM tools.
- Commitment to intergenerational wealth planning and community engagement.
- Strong interest in environmental causes.
- Commitment to obtaining the CFP designation if not already held.

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable incentive payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals; market conditions; and business needs.
The expected base salary range for this position is $38,000 - $55,000.
This position may be eligible to receive a discretionary/variable incentive payment up to 1.5x base salary.
