As a Senior Engineer - Kotlin, you will craft distributed data processing solutions for various needs like reporting and analytics. Investigate, create, and implement the solutions for existing technical challenges. Provide guidance, instruction, direction, leadership to a development team with the purpose of achieving project goals.
Your role- Acquire tasks from the project lead or Team Lead (TL), prepare functional and design specifications.
- Ensure that assigned areas are delivered within set deadlines and required quality objectives.
- Provide estimations, agree on task duration with the manager, and contribute to the project plan of the assigned area.
- Address area-level risks, provide and implement mitigation plans.
- Report on area readiness/quality, and raise red flags in crisis situations which are beyond their AOR.
- Resolve crisis situations within their AOR.
- Initiate and conduct code reviews, establish code standards, conventions, and guidelines.
- Suggest technical and functional improvements to contribute to the product.
- Constantly improve your professional level.
- Collaborate with multiple teams, including Product, UI, and Engineering.
- Develop back-end components using Kotlin, ensuring high scalability and performance.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of Kotlin syntax, features, and idiomatic use of the language. Familiarity with advanced features like coroutines for asynchronous programming, and extension functions.
- Debug Kotlin code, write unit tests to ensure quality, and diagnose bugs.
Your skills and experience :
- University degree or equivalent experience in a field related to Computer Sciences.
- 5+ years of development experience as a software engineer using Kotlin.
- Experience in API design, development & integration, and building high-reliability applications.
- Experience working with webhooks/OpenAPI.
- Experience in developing back-end components using Kotlin, ensuring high scalability and performance.
- Expertise in Database fundamentals, SQL, and distributed computing.
- Proficiency with CI/CD, and specifically with DevOps build and release pipelines.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience with Amazon AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, RDS, etc.) is preferred.
- Experience with stream-processing systems: Kafka, Spark-Streaming, Apache Flink, etc.
