Artemis is listed on the TSX Venture exchange, and is a well-financed, growth-oriented gold development company with strong financials aimed at creating shareholder value through the identification, acquisition, and development of gold properties in mining friendly jurisdictions.Our current focus is construction of the Blackwater Mine in central British Columbia approximately 160km southwest of Prince George and 450km northeast of Vancouver.

As the Junior Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting the accounting team at our Prince George office. Reporting directly to the Senior Accountant, you will assist with financial processes, gain hands-on experience in the mining industry, and contribute to the disciplined development of the Blackwater Mine.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Senior Accountant with month-end financial reporting tasks to meet reporting deadlines.
- Support monthly reconciliations of commitments, costs, and subledger-to-general ledger accounts under the guidance of the Senior Accountant.
- Enter and verify data related to progress claims and contract progress certificates for month-end reporting.
- Help maintain the fixed asset register by recording additions, disposals, and depreciation entries.
- Conduct basic analysis of month-end costs, comparing budget, commitments, and actuals, and escalate discrepancies to the Intermediate or Senior Accountant.
- Provide transactional support for warehouse inventory, including data entry and integrity checks, as directed.
- Respond to basic cost inquiries from mine site departments, assisting with spend and budget reconciliations as needed.
- Support the Senior Accountant and Intermediate Accountant with ad hoc reporting and tasks, such as compiling data for construction expenditure reviews.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records to facilitate audits and compliance with company policies.
- Participate in training and mentorship provided by senior team members to build accounting skills and industry knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent coursework in progress for recent graduates).
- A completed or in progress CPA is advantageous
- 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (internships or part-time roles acceptable).
- Excellent understanding of financial and accounting principles; familiarity with IFRS.
- A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel a must, including proficiency with basic formulas (e.g., SUM, VLOOKUP).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for managing financial data.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and respond to basic inquiries.
- Ability to work under supervision, follow instructions, and contribute to a team environment.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced setting.
- Familiarity with ERP systems is an advantage but not required.
- Interest in or prior exposure to the mining industry is a plus but not essential.
