As the Supervisor, Infection Prevention & Control (IPAC), you will lead a team of Infection Control Specialists dedicated to preventing and controlling communicable diseases across Peel Region. Working in the Public Health Intelligence division, you will play a vital role in safeguarding community health, ensuring compliance with the Health Protection and Promotion Act, Ontario Public Health Standards, and driving excellence in infection prevention strategies.

Your Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee IPAC strategies, monitor trends, identify risks, and implement evidence-based solutions.
- Ensure effective outbreak management, surveillance, and disease investigations to protect public health.
- Provide leadership and subject matter expertise to IPAC consultations and complaint investigations in alignment with public health mandates and IPAC best practices.
- Engage with healthcare institutions and community partners to strengthen infection control measures
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.
- Contribute to budget planning, program evaluation, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
What You Bring:
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in public health or infection prevention.
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences or a related field with at least 5 years of public health experience specializing in IPAC.
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) from CBIC or a commitment to obtain within two years.
- Expertise in infection control, outbreak response, and surveillance best practices normally acquired through a combination of continuing education and experience.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to managing emerging public health challenges.
- Excellent communication, data analysis, and critical thinking skills to support policy recommendations, advocacy efforts and program decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) and public health databases (e.g., iPHIS).

In this role, you’ll benefit from the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes meaningful in-person connection. A minimum of two days per week on-site is expected, with additional in-person presence as operational needs evolve.This arrangement allows for a blend of in person and hybrid work that adapts to support both organizational priorities and employee flexibility and is subject to change over time.
It's important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario. This ensures that we're compliant with all regulations and policies.
