Job Summary:

As an Archaeological and Environmental administrator, you will complete administrative duties for the environmental management program, such as metric tracking, report completion, and document organization. You will be the main point of contact between the Project Coordinators/ Engineers/ Schedulers and the Archaeological Liaison.

You will communicate, organize and maintain records on archaeological and cultural matters pertaining to planning, scheduling, and coordinating archaeological-related construction and monitoring activities on a day-to-day basis.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out a wide range of sensitive and diverse administrative and operational duties, including preparation and the storage of project files
  • Organizing project metrics for client reporting including waste management tracking, laboratory results, key performance indicators, and professional memos
  • Assisting in permit reporting (obtaining and organizing required information for permits) and completing weekly and monthly project reporting
  • Reviewing requirements pertaining to archaeological and cultural requirements related to SkyLink’s construction activities
  • Maintaining records of communication between SkyLink’s Archaeological Liaison and the Province’s Archaeology Program Manager
  • Notifying the Archaeology Liaison of the scheduling and planning of construction works in areas with potential to interact with areas of archaeological potential (as identified by the Archaeology Liaison)
  • Assisting in implementing SkyLink's management plan in relation to archaeological resources and associated mitigation and monitoring work plans in coordination with the Environmental Manager and the Project Archaeologist
  • Coordinating construction planning and staging implementation with SkyLink’s construction managers and the Archaeology Liaison
  • Working cooperatively and collaboratively together with the Archaeology Liaison, Province, the Province’s archaeology Program Manager and the Project Archaeologist in respect of all archaeological matters relating to the Project, including the support and direction of the Project Archaeologist

Qualifications:

  • Preference for individuals with registration or ability to register as a Qualified Environmental Professional as defined by the B.C.'s Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy (or equivalent in other Provinces) or certified as a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control by the Erosion and Sediment Control Association of Canada
  • At least two years’ experience in construction monitoring and environmental compliance will be an asset
  • Background in developing, monitoring and auditing environmental practices and performance
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant environmental and waste legislation, standards, and effective industry practices
  • Knowledge of construction site erosion and sedimentation controls and BMP’s
  • Must possess effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to coordinate the efforts of others to accomplish objectives
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Work Conditions
  • This role is a local position based in Metro Vancouver and Langley, BC. Candidate should be based in the Metro Vancouver or Langley area or are willing to relocate to this area
  • Field responsibilities throughout the year in varying weather and site conditions
