Responsibilities
Tasks- Explain procedures
- Operate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners
- Position patients
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals materials to patients or to biological samples
- Wear radiation detection equipment to acquire data for use by nuclear medicine physicians in the diagnosis of disease
- Record and process results of procedures
- Explain procedures and side effects of radiation
- Record and process patient data
- Provide appropriate care and monitoring of the patient during the examination
- 1 to 2 people
Credentials
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses- Certification of the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists
- Certification by a provincial or territorial association
