Instrumentation Engineer / Technologist - Calgary

Adecco is currently hiring a full-time experienced Instrumentation Engineer / Technologist to join our client’s team in Fort McMurray, AB. This role involves designing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting instrumentation systems and equipment to ensure optimal operational performance.
In this role you will provide technical support to operations, maintenance, and shutdown teams, focusing on instrumentation reliability and preparing design packages for equipment improvements.

- Shift: Monday to Friday | 7:30am – 4:00pm

Responsibilities:
- Monitor instrumentation issues by reviewing shift logs.
- Support troubleshooting to maintain efficient plant production.
- Lead or assist in incident investigations.
- Analyze test results, recommending maintenance or upgrades.
- Participate in risk assessments; propose solutions for plant issues.
- Develop scopes of work for turnarounds and provide execution support.
- Recommend necessary procurement of materials and equipment.
- Prepare engineering packages for reliability improvements, ensuring standards compliance.
- Create design packages with detailed scopes and specifications.
- Review vendor documents; analyze data for end-of-life planning.
Qualifications:
- Must be local to Fort McMurray area or willing to relocate for this one year contract role.
- Instrumentation Engineering Technologist diploma from Canadian University or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a Canadian University or equivalent as recognized by APEGA.
- Professional Engineer / Technologist or registered for membership in APEGA/ASET
- Minimum 5 years of Instrumentation Technologist experience in oil & energy industry.
- Experience in completing engineering work packages
- Eligible for APEGA/ASET membership.
- Strong skills in teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards.
- Flexibility to work in both office and field environments.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
