Responsibilities:
What does your day look like?
As a Radiation Protection Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and success of the project. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Operating process equipment to meet remedial objectives under the guidance of project and technical management
- Maintaining and calibrating specialized equipment such as alpha/beta data loggers, gamma meters, sample counters, and air monitors
- Conducting data measurements and sampling in the field using the necessary field equipment, probes, detectors, or meters
- Communicating daily project updates with the radiation protection technician team and project team
- Ensuring that all required daily, weekly, and monthly surveys are completed
Qualifications:
What do you need to succeed?
To thrive in this role, you should possess:
- Strong problem-solving and observational skills
- The ability to work autonomously and take initiative in a remote site setting
- Training in radiation safety (an asset, but not required; onsite training will be provided)
- Physical capability to perform tasks, including lifting up to 25 kg
- Experience in fly-in/fly-out roles (preferred)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- A valid driver’s license (an asset)
- Health and safety training or remote site training (an asset)
- Bilingual in English and French (an asset)
