Role Summary
The Accounting Co-op / Intern will support the accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, assist with month-end close activities, and perform general accounting duties such as preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.
Role Responsibilities- Enter vendor invoices into the accounting system with accurate coding and classification
- Maintain and organize all supporting documents for audit and reference purposes
- Generate and issue sales invoices to customers in a timely manner
- Support the accounts receivable process by following up on overdue payments
- Monthly reconciliation of company credit card
- Assist the Finance & Accounting team with month-end close process
- Other duties and projects as assigned
Requirements
Formal Education or Equivalent- Recent graduate or currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or a Graduate's Degree in accounting, finance, business, or business administration
- Past work accounting experience is considered an asset
- Adaptability: Adapts to new methods and processes and suggests improvements to processes, particularly in administrative and customer service tasks
- Supportive Role: Supports team members effectively, ensuring smooth operations and clear communication
- Task Completion: Completes tasks accurately and efficiently, particularly in administrative duties and delivers high-quality work
- Ethical Conduct: Adheres to ethical standards, demonstrating honesty and transparency in all interactions with every stakeholder. Adheres to company policies. Demonstrates reliability and trustworthiness, especially in handling sensitive information.
