Your Opportunity at SECURE:
The Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, gathering, distributing and organizing information in relation to client waste management services. This includes project estimating, quote submission, project coordination and execution, safety, profitability, and costing.This will include tasks such as client facing interactions, scheduling, administrative duties, financial reporting and risk assessment. The Project Coordinator would also directly assist with site operations including supervising, waste transportation, and incident response as required.
A Day in The Life:
- Operations liaison between SECURE and Clientele
- Coordinate and manage Waste Services for clients including field activities and transportation and disposal
- Coordinate waste sampling, waste characterization, waste classification, waste profile sheet preparation, waste handling methods, waste storage, waste minimization methods and reporting, and waste treatment innovations.
- Manage pre-approved subcontractor support services
- Develop Waste Scheduled Services for clients
- Coordinate waste acceptance to end disposal and recycling
- Coordinate the waste handling procedures and required documentation
- Provide waste management training to clientele
- Assist in the preparation & submission of accurate project estimates, and quotes
- Complete administrative tasks such entering work orders, completing work authorizations, waste acceptance forms etc.
- Manage data entry of any waste manifests and documentation for waste disposal and enter into database
- Provide recommendations on waste handling and efficiency improvements
- Interpret and ensure compliance with all relevant Waste regulations
- Enter waste tracking data and assist in regulatory reporting
- Participate in waste review meetings with clients
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of waste management and project coordination.
- Related post-secondary education such as a degree or diploma in Business, Science or Environmental Studies an asset
- Excellent understanding of environmental & transportation rules and regulatory requirements along with ability to ensure compliance of such rules and requirements; including but not limited to, permit conditions, waste characterization, waste classification, container requirements, segregation requirements, storage limits, lab packing, bulking/blending, commingling, labeling, inventorying, shipping, receiving and TDG.
- Industry certifications/training (TDG, WHMIS, H2S Alive, HAZWOPER, First Aid et cetera) would be considered an asset.
- Superior communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
- Ability to liaison with owners, customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants, along with ability to diplomatically resolve any issues and/or concerns that may occur
- Fit-for-Work each day
- Strong computer skills with ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook, Windows, and other operational applications, including the use of mobile devices
- Ability to communicate effectively and express thoughts and ideas in a clear and concise manner.
