What Is This Opportunity?

The Funding and Liquidity technology group within RBC Capital Markets’ Quantitative and Technology Services (QTS) organization is responsible for supporting the business units that manage both secured and unsecured funding within Capital Markets.
We are investing in new capabilities to ensure that RBC is as efficient as possible in funding the firm in line with our risk appetite. We require a seasoned IT Business Analyst to drive business and data analysis and subsequent implementation design for Capital Markets’ Funding and Liquidity across all aspects, including forecasting, execution, reporting, liquidity management and funds transfer pricing.

This is a great time to join the team to create and execute on a vision for a very complex part of the Capital Markets’ business.

You will work with a multi-discipline group including both technology and stakeholder groups to create infrastructure and reports that optimize funding decision for RBC. Using the industry experience you have gained, bring ideas, best practices, and guidance on how RBC can optimize its funding function front to back.

Take the agreed vision and work with development teams to realize it by expanding the product backlog, working to refine and evolve the vision through the implementation journey. Be an instrumental part of setting RBC Capital Markets up to achieve its strategy and growth ambition by building a best-in-class funding process and infrastructure.

What Will You Do?
  • Work closely with product owner and business users to capture business requirements for enhancing funding infrastructure and build and expand Fund Transfer Pricing & Asset/Liability Reporting functions
  • Create and maintain an elaborate product backlog, using tools like JIRA, documenting the refined business requirements in clearly articulated user stories, and prioritizing this with the Product Owner in order to deliver incremental value.
  • Perform detailed analysis on capital market products (including, but not limited to equities - cash & derivatives, structured notes, repos, loans, bonds etc.) and enterprise reference data to establish the business rules required for building the Fund transfer Pricing engine and Asset/ Liability reports.
  • Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise across multiple funding projects and workstreams
  • Develop and maintain relationships with senior management in the business units, operations, finance, corporate treasury and QTS.
  • Test and accept the developed stories that meet the acceptance criteria and assist QA manager in writing appropriate test scenarios to support Front To Back test automation

What Do You Need To Succeed?

Must Have:

  • Minimum of undergraduate degree coupled with at least 10 years overall experience in a Business Analysis or related role
  • Experience working as an IT BA or equivalent in Capital Markets, Treasury/ Liquidity or Risk or Finance functions
  • Proficient in SQL & strong data analysis skills
  • Minimum 2 year experience in Agile backlog management
  • Experience with capital markets products

Nice-To-Have:

  • Industry qualification such as CFA, FRM or equivalent
  • Experience with Asset liability Reporting and/or Fund Transfer Pricing
  • Experience in money market and secured financing trading functions
