What you will be doing:
- Manage and coordinate the activities of the project’s technical office program and provide technical and administrative guidance to staff to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved
- Manage designers’ performance in accordance with plans, by controlling the progress and costs
- Prepare technical submittal ensuring that they are issued in accordance with the specified design and quality standards
- Assist with the functional and managerial responsibilities and accountability for the execution of the project including contract compliance, within schedule and budget.
- Review the design submissions for scope elimination, identify design or interdisciplinary issues, ensuring that constructability and construction’s means and methods are coordinated with the construction team
- Identify potential problems that may occur during the construction process which were not identified in the final design and coordinate with the Designer and the Construction team to find a solution
- Track document submittals, documenting and reporting progress and alerting the team member of risks related to potential delays
- Support the project procurement and sub-contracting process
- Review the designer’s monthly invoice and all the required reporting
- Prepare change orders and back charges
- Manage the cost control system and provide heads up to the Design Manager on potential deviations from the estimate
- Prepare letter for the designers
- Manage entirely materials and data to help establish and maintain effective communication and information systems within unit.
- Identify and prepare change management documentation
- Ensure compliance of the Design Change Management Plan, RFI and Site Instructions processes
- Prepare regular progress reports
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or other related discipline
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in design coordination within the heavy civil/transit industry
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Results oriented individual with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and timelines
- Demonstrated strong team work ethics and decision-making skills
- Ability to think “outside the box”
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional organization skills and high attention to detail
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Ability to prioritize and effectively manage time and workloads
