About Our Client

Our client specializes in development, construction, and asset management, producing projects across the GTA.

Job Description
  • Manage the entire accounting cycle for multiple development projects.
  • Perform monthly calculations, reconciliations, and record revenues, management fees, and interest for each project.
  • Ensure timely month-end closing by recording all relevant transactions, including setting up accruals and accurately documenting journal entries.
  • Prepare internal and external partner reports for each project, including supporting GL balances
  • Prepare monthly construction draws and collaborate with cost consultants.
  • Work closely with operations and other teams to process monthly property financials, including invoice coding, purchase orders, project details, and variance analysis as required.
  • Conduct ongoing analysis of project budgets based on pro forma data from joint venture partners.
  • Perform regular reconciliations for bank and trust deposits.
  • Set up project budgets, change orders, and estimates in the accounting system, ensuring proper control and maintenance.
  • Prepare and process cash calls, and record and reconcile project distributions and contributions.
  • Assist in preparing monthly compliance reports for lenders, government agencies, and partners.
  • Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Standards (IFRS and ASPE), as well as internal audit, client accounting services, and review standards.

The Successful Applicant
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience, ideally within a real estate/construction company.
  • Supervisory experience and familiarity with project management and cost standard analysis are a plus.
  • Strong accounting, analytical, and Microsoft Excel skills; experience with real estate accounting software is a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and respond quickly to stakeholders.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional, personable demeanor.
