Overview:

We are offering a fast paced, career elevating opportunity at our new highly automated state‐of‐the‐art baking facility in Cambridge, Ontario. The expectation for every employee of this unique and flexible facility is to work cooperatively as part of the team to produce safe, high quality food products, efficiently and effectively.

As an integral team member, you will be required to help out as needed to accomplish this goal, regardless of the position, consistent with Dare values.

This is a unionized position with a starting rate of $28.60 per hour

Looking for potential candidates to work: Afternoon, Nights or Weekend shift (no rotation)

Key Ingredients:

  • Operate complex automated food processing and packaging machinery
  • Use complex software to support the baking and packaging procedures (HMI)
  • Demonstrate food safety and quality concepts (e.g. cleaning and sanitation of equipment) in a baking facility
  • Conduct start up, in process and finished product quality testing based on standards
  • Identify issues, determine the root cause, and work with maintenance and engineering teams to develop permanent solutions
  • Evaluate current processes with a view towards continuous improvement of the facilities efficiency and performance.
  • Perform routine technical maintenance to the equipment
  • Conduct equipment testing and provide support during the installation and set‐up of equipment

Recipe for Success:

  • Education that includes a post‐secondary Food Processing Technician program or relevant program
  • Skilled in the principles of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing
  • Hands on experience with food processing and packaging equipment
  • Strong technical skills and an analytical approach to problem‐solving
  • A history of meeting and exceeding challenging performance goals; a desire to win
  • Ability to perform tasks effectively both individually and as a member of a team
  • Understands basic principles of Food Safety and Quality
  • Strong communication skills
