What Is The Opportunity?

As a member of the Digital Shared Services team, we are looking for a Snr technical analyst to join the RTB (run the bank) support team for Integration Platform Canada. You will be an integral part of an established team helping to manage platform availability and stability for a crown jewel application that supports all Investor Services lines of business.

You will be a high energy individual who enjoys technical challenges, identifying root cause problems and assisting with the design and application of solution fixes. You enjoy the detail but are careful not to lose sight of the bigger picture.

Integration Platform Canada is middleware infrastructure that supports multiple RBCIS LOB applications in exchanging data and messages using a common infrastructure network built on IBM WebSphere MQ.

Applications interact using message queues hosted under IP Queue Managers. RBCIS applications interface with IP using JVM applications i.e. Endpoints. Endpoints are capable of receiving/sending and transforming messages. IP consists of approximately 70 different interacting endpoints.

The routing logic for MQ messages is configured and maintained by platform. The application also has an interface to the external SWIFT network. The application handles both financial and non-financial data and manages on average approx. 6mm messages daily across all Investor services lines of business

What Will You Do?
  • You will work collaboratively with business stakeholders, TI technology teams, Application teams and development teams to manage incidents and escalations supporting of BAU requirements as they arise.
  • Through awareness of business challenges or operational inefficiencies – you will identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, AI integration or POC’s etc
  • Participates in change and release management for both production and DR environments.
  • You will be involved with tech currency, cyber requirements, server hygiene compliance, project demands and supporting audit requests helping to manage overall IT risk requirements
  • You will provide technical leadership and guidance on issues impacting client deliverables and business operations.
  • You will have a good understanding of SLA’s and their importance and will ensure that response and resolution times are met
  • You will develop long term trusted relationships with business stakeholders, TI teams and peers

What Do You Need To Succeed?

Must have:

  • Strong technical skills that include experience with Unix shell scripting, commands, monitoring tools (Catchpoint, Dynatrace, PagerDuty, Splunk), Middleware technologies e.g IBM MQ, IBM Websphere, Automation tools such as Ansible, Service Now, SQL/Oracle/PL/SQL, APIs and MQ, DEVOPS tools (UCD, GitHub, Inner Source), Java, Unix Servers/OCP4
  • You have an analytical mind, you are curious and enjoy peeling back the onion layers
  • You are results oriented and have a strong sense of urgency
  • You are articulate and can explain the complex in simple terms
  • Prioritization of activities is a key for you and you are an expert with time management
  • Things change, no problem for you, you can pivot seamlessly to meet the new challenge
  • When the heat is on, you remain calm and think clearly
