Job Description:
Position: MillwrightPrimary Location: North Vancouver, BC
Shift: 4-day work week, 7am – 5pm; rate of pay: $64.28 per hour; excellent working environment. Occasional overtime on evenings and weekends may be required.

The CAD hourly rate for this position is $64.28 + benefits. Hourly rates are determined by role, level, and location. The hourly rate displayed on each job posting reflects the starting rate for new hires for the position. Rates may also be determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.More specific rate factors for your preferred location can be discussed during the hiring process, as some facilities are subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements. Please note that the compensation details listed in the US roles postings reflect the hourly rate only, and do not include benefits, pension contributions or additional incentives such as overtime and shift premiums.
About This Position and About You
Reporting to the supervisors, the millwright will support various activities including but not limited to: preventative, predictive corrective maintenance, as per work orders and/or supervisor’s instructions, in a safe and efficient manner. You will be part of a team of Electricians, Instrumentation Mechanics, Millwrights, and control specialists; we have a great team and are excited for you to join us.This is a unionized position based on 4 days a week, 10 hours per day (7 am – 5 pm). Occasional overtime on evenings and weekends may be required.
Qualification
Knowledge- Must possess Inter-provincial journeyperson ticket in millwrighting.
- 3+ years’ experience in a journeyman maintenance role in a hands-on, industrial environment and showing methodical and logical approach to troubleshooting.
- Must have a strong mechanical aptitude with ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Must be able to demonstrate excellence in safety and care for environment within workplace.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Must have excellent work ethic with a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision to identify and solve complex problems.
- Must pass company medical and background checks.
- Preferences may be given to candidates, who have multiple tickets besides millwrighting, such as refrigeration, pipefitting, machining, etc.
- Maintain, install, inspect, replace or repair plant equipment.
- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance and keep accurate maintenance records.
- Assist other tradespersons as and when needed and provide guidance to an apprentice, if so required.
- Perform other maintenance related duties as and when needed.
- Be available to work some overtime and weekends as required.
- Maintain familiarity, and comply with all Chemtrade corporate and site Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) policies and procedures.
- Any other duties as required by the supervisor.
- This is an electrochemical, industrial, process type plant. Much of the work is outdoors and frequent walking, bending, crouching, squatting, climbing ladders, etc. may be required.
- The ability to complete assigned safety training and follow Chemtrade’ s safe work policies and practices are conditions of employment.
