Resource Coordinator (Talent)

Position Summary:

Acuren is seeking a highly motivated Resource Coordinator to join our Prairies group! This role is responsible for reaching out to candidates on our internal resource list, promoting project opportunities, verifying credentials, ensuring individuals meet site requirements, conducting employee outreach for future projects, scheduling in software, confirming requirements with sites, and scheduling IRATA training.

The ideal candidate has knowledge of industry trades, NDT, and possess excellent communication and coordination skills.

This role is Monday-Friday, 40 hours a week based in Fort Saskatchewan.

Responsibilities:

Identifying Resource Needs
  • Assessing project requirements and resource allocation needs
  • Collaborating with project managers and stakeholders to understand resource needs
  • Conducting ongoing analysis of resource availability and skills
Resource Acquisition
  • Maintaining an internal resource list/database
  • Actively reaching out to candidates on the internal resource list to determine their availability
  • Conducting interviews and assessments to evaluate candidates' skills and suitability for different project opportunities
Resource Deployment
  • Providing staff with clear communications/information regarding their work assignments
  • Matching available resources to project opportunities based on their skills, availability, and project requirements
  • Coordinating with project managers to ensure resources are efficiently and effectively allocated to projects
  • Managing resource schedules, ensuring timely deployment and efficient utilization
  • Maintaining documentation of resource assignments, updates, and changes
  • Coordinating with HR and hiring teams to facilitate the onboarding process for new resources
  • Effectively and quickly managing issues/conflicts/ priorities related to the planning, scheduling and dispatching of staff and equipment/resources to support a smooth work flow
  • Ensuring applicable collective agreement provisions are consistently applied in the technician/client interaction
Resource Promotion and Engagement
  • Promoting project opportunities to eligible candidates in the internal resource list
  • Communicating the benefits and details of project opportunities to candidates
  • Managing communication and feedback between resources and project managers
  • Encouraging and fostering an engaged and productive resource pool through regular communication and support
  • Identifying opportunities to improve staff satisfaction and engagement
Reporting and Analysis
  • Tracking and analyzing resource utilization metrics, including availability, utilization rates, and conflicts
  • Preparing regular reports and insights to senior management regarding resource availability, allocation, and capacity constraints
  • Identifying trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement in resource management processes
  • Providing recommendations and suggestions for optimizing resource allocation and utilization

Other work duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years industry related experience
  • An understanding of clients’ technical needs to effectively fulfill service requirements
  • Knowledge of industry trades associations and industrial trades
  • Knowledge of the QCC collective agreement to ensure compliance with terms and conditions
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage a broad range of internal and external contacts
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Proficiency in using scheduling software and other relevant tools
  • Excellent problem solving, and customer service
  • Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Consistently demonstrates an understanding of, and compliance with, responsibilities under the provincial Occupational Health and Safety Acts and Regulations, ISO Systems and Company Safety and Quality Management Systems, policies and procedures.
  • Experience in the NDT industry preferred
