Freight Sales - International and Domestic

Compensation: Competitive base salary plus performance-based commissions

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of freight forwarding, domestic trucking, and third-party logistics (3PL) services, paired with a proven ability to cultivate and manage client relationships effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive new business development by identifying and pursuing international and domestic freight sales opportunities.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with importers, exporters, freight brokers, and logistics partners.
• Understand customer logistics needs and tailor customized freight solutions across air, ocean, and ground transportation.
• Manage the full sales cycle, including lead generation, qualification, proposal preparation, negotiation, and closing deals.
• Collaborate closely with operations, pricing, and customer service teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Stay informed about market trends, competitor pricing, and regulatory requirements impacting freight shipping both domestically and internationally.
• Maintain accurate and timely records in CRM systems and provide regular sales forecasts and pipeline reports.

Requirements:

• 3-5+ years of sales experience in freight forwarding, domestic trucking, international logistics, or 3PL services.
• Robust knowledge of domestic and international transportation modes, trade compliance, Incoterms, and freight documentation.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building a sustainable client portfolio.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Competency with CRM software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Flexibility to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Existing book of business within freight forwarding or trucking sectors.
• Multilingual abilities for handling diverse international client accounts.
• Experience in specific industries such as automotive, retail, manufacturing, or pharmaceuticals.
