We focus on sourcing quality waste paper from Canada to meet the growing demand in international markets, particularly India. Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Buyer cum Trader to procure waste paper from across Canada. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, logistics, export procedures, and managing supplier relationships. Experience in the recycling industry will be highly advantageous.
While this is a work-from-home position, extensive travel for sourcing and purchasing waste paper is required, as well as occasional travel to the US and India.
Key Responsibilities:- Purchase waste paper from suppliers across Canada.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure the best quality and pricing.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Oversee logistics and shipping for the smooth export of purchased waste paper, most of which is exported to India.
- Ensure compliance with international shipping and export regulations.
- Stay informed about market trends and industry developments.
- Frequently travel to meet suppliers and inspect products within Canada.
- Occasionally travel to the US and India (at least once a year) for meetings and business purposes.
- Provide regular reports on purchasing trends, market conditions, and performance.
- Experience as a Buyer/Trader in waste paper or related industries is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience in the recycling industry is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of logistics, export buying, and supplier management.
- Willingness to travel frequently within Canada, as well as to the US and India at least once a year.
- Must have a valid passport/visa
- Valid driving license required.
- Ability to work independently from home and manage tasks remotely.
- Fluent in English; French is a plus.
- Capable of managing tax obligations in your own country, as the company is based in the US.
- Competitive salary with performance-based incentives.
- Candidates without specific experience in waste paper but with a strong understanding of export buying and dealing with suppliers are encouraged to apply.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
