Status: Regular Full Time
Location: 22 Adelaide Street West, Toronto
As a member of the DTC team, the Assistant Manager, Digital Acquisition is responsible for budgeting, planning and executing digital advertising initiatives to acquire email leads and subscribers, drive ecommerce sales, and increase brand awareness to meet program goals that contribute to strategic and financial objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Digital Advertising Execution (50%)
- Manage self-serve advertising platforms and paid social efforts including campaign optimization & maintenance (i.e. targeting, bids, creative, budgets, ad tracking verification, etc).
- Execute test plan for new and emerging digital advertising opportunities to identify the best performing paid media tactics, platforms, targeting, messaging, and creative formats to help move the business forward.
- With guidance from the Director, Customer Acquisition, manage budget and pacing, forecast results, identify gaps and collaborate with business owners to optimize advertising performance and ROAS.
- Develop executional support documents and communicate details as necessary to internal and external stakeholders to ensure all promotions are executed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Planning (20%)
- Develop and optimize the Harlequin brand digital advertising strategy with a focus on expansion and development of Harlequin digital audience through lead generation, revenue generation and brand engagement.
- Build digital advertising campaigns in conjunction with the brand management and digital marketing teams for the Harlequin master brand, adjacent brands, priority books and products, entertainment content projects, subscriber acquisition and audience development initiatives.
- Reporting & Analysis (20%)
- Analyze digital advertising campaign results to provide insights to leverage in the development of future campaigns.
- Generate and maintain campaign documents such as campaign performance and spending reports.
- Monitor and report campaign results and platform trends at applicable stages for all advertising platforms and paid social efforts
- Operational Effectiveness (10%)
- Reviews processes and operational aspects of the Digital advertising program that will contribute to increased efficiency, cost savings or innovation.
- Liaise with the corporate Harper Collins team as well as with the digital experts in other Harper Collins divisions to share best practices and learnings.
- Stay on top of industry trends and all applicable technologies, including developments in – Display, Social media, SEM, SEO, etc.
- Generate and share digital advertising best practices and industry trends with internal stakeholders.
- Recommends methods to reduce complexity through innovation or creative process efficiencies.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in Business/Marketing.
- Minimum 2 years of digital marketing experience.
- Must have high proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- The ability to work successfully both independently, and within a team dynamic.
- Strong time management, organizational, and planning skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Creative thinker with a drive for results.
- Harlequin product knowledge an asset.
- 1-2 years of experience using self-serve digital advertising platforms such as META and Google Ads.
