Job Summary:
The Supervisor, Airworthiness supports the Director, Regulatory Compliance and Training in the daily management of aircraft and AMO airworthiness controls.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversees and provides guidance to Technical Librarian Team and Technical Writer.
- Submits all Service Difficulty Reports to Transport Canada and, when appropriate, communicates SDRs to OEMs and Principal Maintenance Inspector.
- Controls all Aircraft Certificates (Certificates of Airworthiness and Registrations, Radio Licenses, Insurance, etc.).
- Submits Annual Airworthiness Information Reports to Transport Canada.
- Conducts the investigation of SMS hazards and incidents related to Technical Operations.
- Tracks corrective action plans defined to address SMS reports and assigned to Technical Operations through to complete implementation.
- Participates in SMS Management Group meetings and provides regular presentations on the status of Technical Operations Safety Objectives, Goals and KPIs.
- Conducts regulatory reviews for submission to the Director, Regulatory Compliance and Training and VP, Maintenance and Engineering.
- Oversees external IOSA-style audits conducted by IOSA or third-party code-share partners.
- Drafts CARs to address any findings raised by third party IOSA audits; communicates and oversees internal CAPS to completion
- Supports regulatory research and airworthiness documentation required to support new regulatory ventures such as RN PAR, ETOPS, MEL Extension Programs, etc.
- Supports the Director, Regulatory Compliance and Training and PRM in the development and continual update of internal documents including the MPM, MCMS and Detailed Procedures Manual. Reviews proposed changes to DPDs and MQ Forms to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Oversees Potable Water Management Program.
- Actively participates in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- University degree and/or acceptable combination of education, training and/or related work experience.
- Excellent working knowledge of Transport Canada and IATA requirements for quality assurance.
- Previous experience of working in an Approved Maintenance Organization of a commercial airline.
- Previous experience as an aviation internal auditor an asset.
- Excellent time management, written and verbal communication skills; keen attention to detail.
- Impartiality, integrity, tenacity, diplomacy and self-reliance are key attributes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and internet applications.
- Ability to secure restricted airport security clearance.
- Must maintain a valid passport and be able to travel when required.
