Right now we are looking for a Clerical Support Associate to join our Prenatal Obstetrical Clinic Team.

Employment Status: Part-time
Hours of Work: Rotating shifts, 8 or 12 hours, days/evenings//weekends
Location: Humber River Health, Willson Site
Labour Group: Teamsters Clerical
Reporting Relationship: Manager, Mother and baby Unit and Pre-Natal Clinic

Hourly Rate: $29.966 - $31.016

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for receiving referral for booking appointments from Primary Care Providers.
  • Collaboration with interdisciplinary team to confirm, prioritize and schedule appointments for elective procedures.
  • Responsible for clerical support including patient registration, transfer and discharge, maintenance of patient records, order entry, statistics, and assisting with patient billing.
  • Responsible for customer service including re-scheduling appointments, follow-up calls to confirm appointments, answering and redirect patient inquiries, respond to telephone inquiries, greeting patients and visitors in a courteous manner.
  • Communicates with bed allocation and other departments to arrange patient placement.
  • Communicates with other departments and service areas as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a Community College medical secretarial diploma is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 1 year recent Maternal and Child related clerical/office administration experience in a health care setting required
  • Completion of a medical terminology course preferred.
  • A good working knowledge of basic related medical terminology
  • Good keyboarding skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 WPM required.
  • Experience with MEDITECH, Novari, Booking Caesarean section, Induction of labour and obstetrical appointment, Community Wide Scheduling computer experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both oral and written competencies.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a team environment
  • Knowledge of a second language an asset.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
  • Demonstrate strong relationship with practitioners to support the patient flow in the clinic.
