What is the opportunity?
As Senior Manager, T&O Finance, Performance Management, you will create insights through financial analysis to improve business area decision-making within the finance framework and to deliver high quality financial reporting using efficient and effective processes while maintaining an effective control environment .This position supports the Performance Management team to provide Senior Management with effective performance analytics and reporting of Actual/Forecast/Plan/5YO results to enhance cost transparency and enable early identification of issues, opportunities and appropriate alternative action to support efficient and timely decision making.
The Senior Manager is also responsible for timely delivery of related financial reporting packages while streamlining processes to create efficiencies and support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes.
What you will do?- Lead centralized NIE and Allocations analysis and provide comprehensive, in-depth and timely analytical support through developing financial summaries and presentations to FA’s and senior management
- Establish and lead a centre of subject matter expertise with focus on deep dive analysis of all cost lines to assist finance team in various cost initiatives and decision-making process
- Lead overall T&O Finance transformation efforts including cost transparency, financial outlook management etc. by collaborating with all finance advisory teams to drive change in processes
- Seek out streamlining opportunities and reporting best practices and implement as appropriate
- Responsible for the continuous improvement of processes and tools related to all centralized activities in T&O PM Team.
- Responsible for embedding a culture of financial discipline through proactive communication, education and utilization of various financial processes, tools and applications
- Work independently to identify governance, cost management, financial process issues and proactively work to address them by engaging cross-functional expertise as required
- Provide analytical support of Technology & Operations charges to Platforms for Actuals, Forecast, Plan and 5YO
- Responsible for understanding drivers of costs and recommending ways to optimize and reduce these costs without impacting service levels
- Proactively look for the ways for automation, standardization and removing any redundancies in financial processes
- Support monthly disclosures and variance analysis packages for Enterprise Performance Management and Financial Control teams
- Manage and support weekly estimate process, plan and forecast process, and oversee centralized adjustments
- Support all schedules for executive presentations and monthly Flash Reports for senior management
- Communicate effectively with senior management and ensure that issues are raised and addressed in a timely manner
- Other duties as assigned – in a constantly evolving role which requires constant pivoting and realignment
What you need to succeed?
Must Have- 7+ years’ experience in relevant finance/accounting capacity
- CPA, CFA or MBA
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint capabilities
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem solving capabilities
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and finance systems.
- Excellent business acumen, and presentation skills
- Process improvement and change management mindset
- Excellent advisory, communication, and collaboration capability
- Candidate must be an independent worker, proactive, creative and innovative self-starter; as well as demonstrate a team oriented spirit who brings lots of initiative to a small team.
- Champion and support creative solutions that focus on continuous improvement
- Cope with tight timelines and occasionally long hours required
- Working experience and knowledge of EPM Cognos / TM1 finance systems
- Knowledge / Background in the Technology environment
- Existing RBC / financial industry Experience
- Excellent knowledge of RBC’s Financial Systems
