Overview:

The Associate Subcontracts Specialist is an entry level professional individual contributor role responsible for all commercial subcontracts administration work, to include assistance with high volume subcontract packages from issued requests for proposals through execution phase.

Responsibilities include evaluation of proposals, securing qualified bids and bidders and maintaining subcontract records in accordance with established procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively participates in managing and administering subcontracts engaged in construction activities for plate structures
  • Under close supervision, assists with implementation of contracts/subcontracts administration procedures, and coordinates or monitors the completion of administrative tasks
  • Monitors areas of contracts/subcontracts performance as assigned
  • Conducts investigations and inquiries into specific contracts/subcontracts problems and may provide assistance in claims research
  • Provides technical and functional advise and support to project teams
  • Facilitates communication between multiple departments within Company and Contractors and manages all Contract documents including the day-to-day pre-award and post-award administration of subcontracts
  • Pre-award activities include qualifies potential bidders, assembles and issues Invitation to Bid, and assists with commercial and technical bid evaluations thought contract award
  • Post-award activities will include finalization and award of contracts, daily administration during execution including communications, invoicing, status reports, and contract closeout
  • Assisting with subcontracting strategy development for Subcontracts Manager, ensure all contracts are incorporated as well as negotiated to include the Project required flow down conditions to minimize Company risk
  • Responsible for the assigned subcontracts packages for budget and cost including monitoring on expenditures on payment approval, changes, and negotiate any disputes for the best position of the Company in accordance to the contracts provision. Cost control is essential
  • Perform day to day work completing subcontract documentation in compliance with procedures and including necessary approval documents, traceability and close out packages
  • Ensure all subcontract requirement such as performance guarantees, insurances, warranties are properly secured
  • Deliver reports required by Project and Function on time for the Subcontracts Manager.
  • Advise Operations on execution plans and issues
  • Comply with company and subcontract policies, procedures, ethics and code of conduct

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years (minimum) in EPC industry commercial procurement, project management, subcontracts, contracting strategies, contract management
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administrations; or, equivalent industry experience in CB&I Storage Solutions markets, products, clients, and customers
  • Familiarity with subcontract temples, packages, bid evaluation, negotiating terms and conditions or Subcontract development and management processes
