Project Manager/ Co-Ordinator - London
Position Description :
SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
- Responsible for overseeing and managing work projects for federal military buildings in Canada.
- Ensure that all work projects are executed efficiently, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders, including military personnel, contractors, and internal teams, to ensure successful project completion.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver comprehensive project management and procurement services, ensuring efficient and effective execution of additional work requests (AWRs).
- Provide accurate and timely price quotations for AWRs, adhering to the maximum response times from the date of the request for quotation issuance.
- Develop and maintain detailed schedules for each AWR, specifying start and completion dates. Ensure the client receives timely updates on project progress and any changes to the schedule.
- Collaborate with military personnel, contractors, and internal teams to define project scopes, timelines, and deliverables.
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Ensure all projects comply with federal regulations, safety standards, and organizational policies.
- Maintain accurate records of project activities, including work orders, progress reports, and financial documentation. Provide regular updates to management.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure all work meets the required standards and specifications.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
- Lead and mentor a team of project coordinators and support staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance project delivery.
- Accountable for ensuring that Serco’s interests are represented in joint partnerships or ventures.

- Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to the operations including occupational health and safety, environmental, and quality.
- Responsible for the safety of all personnel, equipment, and facilities under the scope of this position, in accordance with Provincial, Federal, Serco and customer safety regulations and procedures.
- Other related duties relevant to this position as may be required.
Qualifications :
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION /CERTIFICATIONS:
- Diploma or degree in engineering technology from an accredited institution.
- Certified Engineering Technologist designation.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) are highly desirable.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a minimum Secret Government of Canada security clearance (required)
- Minimum of five years demonstrated work experience. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role within project management.
- Successfully managed multiple additional work requests (AWRs) from initiation to completion, ensuring projects were delivered on time and within budget.
- Coordinating procurement activities, including sourcing, negotiating, and contracting with vendors to secure necessary materials and services for AWR projects.
- Providing accurate and timely price quotations for AWRs, consistently meeting maximum response times and client expectations.
- Developing and maintained detailed project schedules, ensuring clear communication of start and completion dates to clients and stakeholders.
- Maintaining strong relationships with military personnel, contractors, and internal teams, ensuring effective collaboration and project success.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance by ensuring all AWR projects complied with federal regulations, safety standards, and organizational policies, implementing quality control measures to meet required specifications.
- Extensive technical skills and experience with project management software and MS Office suite.
