Salary range: $70,000-$90,000 CAD (based on relevant experience, qualifications, and skills).
What you will be doing:
- Manage recruitment of both, craft and staff
- Manage onboarding and off-boarding activities
- Assist in handling labour relations issues and provide advice on resolution
- Maintain employee lists, tracking recruiting efforts as required
- Administer and process HR documents
- Manage employee records, training records, documents, and update information accordingly
- Support employees with their inquiries on a variety of employment-related matters
- Provide employees and managers administrative support with HR-related processes, procedures, and policies.
- Update Staffing Plans and other HR plans as required
- Ensure employee confidentiality privacy through the management of personal data
- Organize and schedule meetings, activities, trainings, and events
What we are looking for:
- Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or other relevant discipline is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of and experience with the employment-related legislation in the Province of British Columbia
- Minimum of 5 years of labour relations experience
- Experience working in a unionized environment in the construction industry is required
- Experience with unionized craft hiring and management in the construction environmnet is required
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office 365. Experience with advanced functions of Excel is required
- Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) at all levels in the organization
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision
- Willing to work in fast-paced environment and/or with tight deadlines
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
- Passion for excellence with a very high level of attention to detail with a sense of urgency
- Proven problem-solving skills; analytical skills
- Ability to work flexible hours when needed
