Salary range: $70,000-$90,000 CAD (based on relevant experience, qualifications, and skills).

What you will be doing:

  • Manage recruitment of both, craft and staff
  • Manage onboarding and off-boarding activities
  • Assist in handling labour relations issues and provide advice on resolution
  • Maintain employee lists, tracking recruiting efforts as required
  • Administer and process HR documents
  • Manage employee records, training records, documents, and update information accordingly
  • Support employees with their inquiries on a variety of employment-related matters
  • Provide employees and managers administrative support with HR-related processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Update Staffing Plans and other HR plans as required
  • Ensure employee confidentiality privacy through the management of personal data
  • Organize and schedule meetings, activities, trainings, and events

What we are looking for:

  • Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or other relevant discipline is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience with the employment-related legislation in the Province of British Columbia
  • Minimum of 5 years of labour relations experience
  • Experience working in a unionized environment in the construction industry is required
  • Experience with unionized craft hiring and management in the construction environmnet is required
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office 365. Experience with advanced functions of Excel is required
  • Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) at all levels in the organization
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Willing to work in fast-paced environment and/or with tight deadlines
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
  • Passion for excellence with a very high level of attention to detail with a sense of urgency
  • Proven problem-solving skills; analytical skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours when needed
