East Calgary Family Care Clinic (ECFCC) is known for providing comprehensive primary care for patients with complex needs. This could be any combination of chronic illnesses and mental health concerns along with social or economic factors that negatively impact health.
The Nurse Practitioner role at the ECFCC works independently with their own panel of patients, acting as the patients' most responsible provider. Working within a collaborative, interdisciplinary team, you will provide patient and family centered care in a nonjudgmental, trauma informed approach, supporting health enhancing behaviors.

ECFCC is open 7 days per week with extended hours
  • this role does include occasional evenings and occasional weekends & stat holidays.
In the 8-week rotation there are 4 evenings (12:45 PM
  • 21:00 PM) and 2 weekends (08:45 AM
  • 17:00 PM).

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan.

You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients.

Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems.

PLEASE NOTE: This position is unionized and represented by the Alberta Union of Nurse Practitioners (AUNP).

Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure.

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability within a complex and rapidly changing environment.

Applies principles of primary health care and trauma informed care in providing health services.
Strong organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.
Demonstrated computer literacy, ability to use Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
NP and RN experience in chronic disease management, episodic/urgent care, mental health and substance use disorders and assets.

Experience and familiarity with Connect Care.
