Estimator - Intermediate

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with an experienced team, ensuring accurate and efficient project cost analysis and contributing to the success of exciting projects in the Edmonton area.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare detailed estimates for multifamily high-rise concrete, wood-frame apartments with concrete parkades, and commercial new builds, ensuring precise and comprehensive cost projections.
• Review and analyze project drawings, specifications, and tender documents to develop well-structured cost estimates.
• Identify and quantify materials, labor, and equipment costs to ensure accurate budget forecasting and cost management.
• Partner with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors to ensure alignment on project scope, pricing, and timelines.
• Foster and maintain relationships with suppliers and trade partners to secure competitive pricing and reliable service.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the accurate and efficient execution of estimating processes.
• Contribute to the preparation of tender proposals, ensuring full compliance with client specifications and requirements.
• Highlight potential risks, opportunities for cost savings, and value-engineering options during the estimating process.
• Support the bid submission process, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
• Utilize estimation software and tools (Procore, AutoCAD, MS Office Suite) to optimize processes, enhance data accuracy, and ensure efficient project estimation.
• Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns, project reports, and estimates for internal reviews and client discussions.
• Ensure all estimates are aligned with project budgets and financial goals.
• Support the project management team by assisting in tracking and managing estimates for multiple projects simultaneously.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating processes and practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Maintain a strong attention to detail throughout the estimating process, ensuring high-quality, accurate outputs.

Requirements:

• Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
• A minimum of 3 years in construction estimating, with a focus on multifamily or commercial projects.
• Demonstrated experience in estimating high-rise concrete buildings, wood-frame multifamily apartments with concrete parkades, or commercial new builds.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project) and estimating software such as Procore and AutoCAD.
• Strong analytical abilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
