Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

We are in search of an experienced program manager with strong analytical, problem-solving and risk management skills. Ability to work efficiently and manage effective relationships in a cross-functional organization to meet commitments for successful program launches.

Must be self-directed and work in complex and dynamic ecosystems.

THE PERSON:

The right candidate will have solid knowledge of technical program management, an outstanding track record of delivering sophisticated software programs, also drive a schedule for business planning towards growth that align to business strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Defines, plans and drives projects and program plans based on management and senior technical guidance
  • Scope technical feasibility of new Products by clarifying and analyzing requirements with SW/HW Architects, Technical Leads, Engineers and Product Managers.
  • Develop program schedule by considering various Driver, SW Stack components and HW/FW dependencies, negotiate and create a staffing plan that supports the schedule
  • Building, creating, and maintaining a well-developed plan, managing and executing the program as per plan is critical.
  • Establish formal program management artifacts including a plan of record, statements of work, project/program timelines, budget, scope, performance, and quality KPIs
  • The successful candidate must also plan for risks in the development path, identify prevention methods, and address them to save on engineering costs
  • Being comfortable working with senior executives is a hard requirement. Candidate must address the needs and requirements called upon from AMD's Engineering, Product Management and Customer Engineering organizations.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle including requirements management, documentation management, and defect management.
  • Industry experience in program / project management.
  • Excellent presentation and leadership skills, able to lead technical discussions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to grasp concepts during discussions and turn minutes into actionable items.
  • Able to communicate concepts and processes with multiple stakeholders.
  • Analytical, self-motivated, organized, detailed-oriented and results-oriented.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with cross functional teams, ability to communicate progress to team members on a regular basis.
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment and competing priorities and tight turnaround times.
  • Engineering background preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence and Excel is an asset.
  • Experience with Agile methodology.
  • PMP certification is highly desirable but not mandatory.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor’s/Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree.
  • Management degree is a plus.
