Controller – Mat Leave
The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of relevant experience. About the position Reporting to the CFO, the controller will be responsible for overseeing full cycle accounting work for multiple entities, some of the duties include but are not limited to: Manage and mentor a team of 3+ accountants Review bank reconciliations for fund and operating accounts Set up new investment and operating accounts as needed Approve NAVs and oversee portfolio valuations and expense accruals Perform general ledger reviews and make necessary adjustments Prepare fair value analyses and sensitivity testing for warrants Lead year-end audits, prepare working papers, and liaise with auditors Draft financial statements, MRFPs, and regulatory filings Manage CRA account setups and ensure timely GST filings Approve consultant payments, invoices, EFTs, and loan transactions Manage intercompany transactions and allocations and oversee payroll and day-to-day finance operations Lead budgeting process and monitor cash flow as well as file EHT and WorkSafe BC submissions Review loan covenants, monthly financials, and forecasts Requirements Designated CPA 7+ years of accounting experience 5 days in office role.
Proven experience in financial reporting, audits, regulatory compliance, and team leadership.
