Calgary - RBI Engineer

Adecco is currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented RBI Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team in Fort McMurray, AB. This contract position runs through December 31, 2025 (with potential for renewal) and is an excellent opportunity for a Professional Engineer with expertise in risk-based inspection (RBI), equipment reliability, and materials engineering.

In this role, you will develop equipment strategies using RBI methodologies (API 581 equivalent), evaluate damage mechanisms based on process conditions and inspection history, and recommend mitigation actions. You will collaborate closely with inspection personnel, mechanical engineers, operations, and process technical teams.

  • Location: Fort McMurray, AB (must be local or willing to relocate)
  • Job Type: Full-time | Temporary | Contract (with potential extension)
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday | 8 hours per day
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop equipment strategies for fixed equipment using RBI methodologies (API 581 equivalent).
  • Evaluate damage mechanisms considering process conditions and inspection history to assess probability of failure.
  • Recommend appropriate mitigation actions to reduce risk and improve equipment reliability.
  • Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment with inspection, mechanical engineering, operations, and process technical staff.
  • Ensure strategies comply with applicable codes, standards, and Alberta regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada.
  • API 580 Risk-Based Inspection certification.
  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation with APEGA.
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in engineering risk assessment, equipment reliability, pipeline inspection, materials, and corrosion in the petroleum or petrochemical industry.
  • Solid knowledge of Alberta pressure equipment, tanks, and piping Codes, Standards, and Regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with Equipment Strategy Software (e.g., PESTRA) is an asset.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Must reside in Fort McMurray or be willing to relocate for the duration of the contract.
