As the Director, Operations Process Owner (Cash, Payments and Trade) for TEO, you will lead the end-to-end ownership, design, development and transformation of key processes, ensuring that process design reflects current business strategy and business/stakeholder requirements, and supports the desired customer experience.

You will lead a fast-paced and dynamic team, with a mandate to standardize, optimize, and manage your operational processes, while enhancing efficiency, identifying and delivering transformation opportunities, and reducing risk, thus allowing core teams to focus on critical daily operations.

The ideal candidate is a strategic leader, and trusted partner, who will collaborate with senior leadership teams across the organization to deliver on large Cash, Payments and Trade programs and LOB initiatives, which will streamline operations and deliver innovation through the adoption of digital, data and AI/Gen AI solutions

What will you do?
  • Lead a team of process owners and subject matter experts in the end-to-end management of process, ensuring risk and compliance adherence. Recommend and implement solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the operations and business. Identify emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making
  • Ensure all processes meet established standards, effectively utilizing templates and tools used to track compliance and operational effectiveness standards. Develop and documents processes and procedures, supporting the development of end-user materials as required.
  • Streamline, simplify and continuously improves existing processes, looking for opportunities to eliminate and automate processes.
  • Provide strategic direction for Cash, Payments and Trade process enhancements, automated solutions and the implementation of strategic initiatives. Ensure the successful on-boarding of new processes within your domain, as required.
  • Represent Operations Process Strategy team to senior leadership. In Cash, Payments and Trade areas, counseling senior management on initiatives and changes impacting Operations. Develop strong working relationships with Operations partners.
  • Implement high-impact cross-functional initiatives and large programs, ensuring successful launches and seamless, on time, on budget, and on point functionality. Take a leadership role in automating and ‘functionalization’ of operational process design.
  • Responsible for enabling strict adherence to Legal, Compliance, AML, Privacy, Risk and Fraud requirements in all processes. Accountable for all operational components of internal audits

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • A strong understanding of Commercial Banking, Payments, Trade or Cash
  • Demonstrated experience in process engineering, process design, process optimization, process ownership, operational management or continuous improvement programs.
  • Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to think strategically, articulate complex challenges, and develop and execute on strategic initiatives at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to articulate complex challenges and issues, and frame and facilitate discussions with a variety of audiences at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to impact, influence and negotiate with key stakeholders in building a superior solution, and ultimately a strong client or stakeholder experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize for impact, and a capacity to lead and manage numerous initiatives at once. Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver on time, while working with stakeholders to ensure prioritization meets needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, partnered with a strong technical ability with PowerPoint, Word and Excel

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with financial services processes such as banking operations, transaction processing, regulatory compliance, risk management, and client servicing.
  • Keen interest in technology as an enabler to operations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large transformation initiatives and driving measurable improvements.
  • People management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
