Credit Counsellor

Adecco is currently hiring a full-time talented Credit Counsellor to work in Toronto, ON. In this role you will serve as a financial advocate and educator, helping clients manage their debts, improve their credit, and achieve financial stability.

This role requires a compassionate and client-focused approach, as well as a strong understanding of personal finance principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with individuals and families as they attempt to work through money
challenges. You will listen to them, help them connect to resources, and give
them hope.
  • Work with clients to develop a money management plan and/or budgeting
techniques and help them transform the way they use credit
  • Assist clients in finding appropriate and life-changing solutions to their financial
problems.
  • Utilize customer relationship management and case management tools to assist clients in finding solutions to their debt and helping them follow through.
  • Build trust with clients to successfully guide them through their decision-making process, allowing them to improve their quality of life and achieve financial wellness
  • Establish and maintain positive connections with creditors, business partners and community agencies to advocate for clients and make referrals to other services where applicable.
  • Understand and contribute to team, and overall agency, targets and goals.
  • Participate in presentations and education programs

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 3-5 years’ experience providing high quality customer service
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Past work experience in Credit Counselling, credit industry or financial services is an asset
  • Past experience in promoting and advocating for products or services
  • Ability to build strong client relationships through exceptional customer service
and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively with fellow employees
  • Detail-oriented approach, impeccable time management and organizational
skills, proven ability to self-manage responsibilities
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting targets and goals on a consistent basis
  • Strong interest in learning about personal finance
  • Strong ability to work with a multicultural public in a personable and empathetic
manner
  • Strong command of the English language
  • Must be bondable
  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
