This role is responsible for managing Challenger’s tire inventory program at the Cambridge location and ensuring effective tire procurement, inventory and solution-driven resolutions and recommendations are made in a cost-effective manner. The incumbent will also display leadership qualities to provide guidance to the other parts staff.Key Accountabilities: Leadership Lead, coach and train direct reports, including mentoring and discipline as required Lead individual meetings with direct reports to discuss progress on their personal development, SMART goal targets and performance including succession planning training Manage direct report’s time off requests, including rearranging shifts to ensure optimal coverage Attend Supervisor’s meetings (may not be within shift hours) Performing other maintenance duties as required Parts Supervisor Ensure staff follows the parts room procedures as approved by the Maintenance Manager Monitor and maintain the inventory integrity and flow of the parts room Monitor and abide by the inventory “parts on hand” budget Monitor inventory parts usage, including printing monthly reports which identify slow moving inventory (730/365/180 day reports); and return the slow moving (730-2 year/365-1 year) parts back to the vendors for credit Organize and perform annual inventories as set by the Maintenance Manager Promote and lead the 5S program with department organization and cleanliness Delegate and assist in the following duties: Review parts requests and provide vehicle repair parts to Mechanics Locate required parts through in-house inventory or order through appropriate vendors Document parts ordered and delivered in the work order system Receive incoming parts and supplies from vendor and process vendor invoices Work with outgoing parts and supplies that require return to the vendor and complete the appropriate paperwork Maintain and organize the tool room Label, stock and organize parts and supplies in the Parts room Package and ship parts/supplies to various Challenger locations Test and clean vehicle satellite components and send defective or damaged equipment to Shaw for repair Periodically check the PO system for invoices that have not been cleared and troubleshoot to correct any error Assist daily with operational duties at the shop, including managing phone communications and attending to drivers at the front counter, ensuring efficient and courteous service Handle retail sales with owner operators through POS transactions Perform a range of additional duties as directed by management, demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to the company's overall goals and objectives Order and maintain an accurate and suitable inventory of tires across at the Cambridge location, ensuring optimal stock levels Collaborate with parts and service personnel to guarantee that inventory levels are precisely recorded in the Challenger parts inventory system Produce and refine reports on company performance, including analyses of tire cost, performance, longevity, and vendor efficacy, to inform strategic decisions Administer and oversee the tire recapping programs, ensuring they are executed efficiently and effectively What You Need To Be Successful In This Role: Ability to lead, coach, and develop employees Action-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving Strong customer focus and commitment to satisfaction Safety-minded and detail-oriented Effective verbal and written communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities High attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment Proficient in Microsoft Office, computer, and telephone skills Self-disciplined, well-organized, and professional team player Strong financial and business acumen, comfortable with operational and financial reports Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to challenges Ability to work independently and collaboratively High level of personal energy and initiative Some heavy lifting may be required Proactive attitude and takes initiative to prevent issues Reliable and dependable Some heavy lifting may be required (single lift up to 50lbs, team lift up to 75lbs) How To Apply: If you are looking to join a premier transportation company, and become an integral part of results oriented team who constantly challenge themselves to Go The Distance for our customers and for each other, the role of Parts Supervisor may be right for you.
