Wine Cellar Assistant (Warehouse Associate) - Ottawa

You will be responsible for managing deliveries, assisting in the wine cellar, and maintaining excellent customer service standards. Based in Rexdale, you may occasionally work at the downtown location. The salary for this role is $25 - $30 per hour.

• Pay rate: $25-$30/hour.
• Location: Rexdale, ON
• Shifts: Monday to Friday, 40hr per week – base schedule is 10h00-18h00 – every few weeks may need to work a Saturday but not through overtime, will have another day off in the week.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting residential wine pick-ups & deliveries using the company’s SUV or cargo van.
• Providing White-Glove service, ensuring the safe handling of wine boxes (up to 20kg/45lbs) during transport and delivery.
• Liaising directly with clients through face-to-face interactions, emails, and phone calls, ensuring that all their needs are met.
• Planning and scheduling your delivery duties, optimizing routes for efficiency.
• Loading and unloading vehicles and trucks for transport.
• Tracking and managing inbound and outbound shipments for clients and suppliers.
• Assisting the Cellar Master with processing wine deposits and withdrawals: picking and pulling pallets, cases, and bottles.
• Receiving, verifying, inventorying, labeling, and racking up wine deposits.
• Maintaining accurate inventory records in both paper and computerized formats.
• Maintaining cleanliness in the warehouse, vehicle, tasting room, kitchen, and washroom facilities.

Requirements:

• Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
• Class G driver’s license with a stellar driving record (licensed for at least 8 years).
• Minimum 2 years of commercial driving or delivery experience.
• Physically fit, capable of lifting 20kg (45lb) boxes regularly.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, sociable, and professional demeanor.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Attention to detail and the ability to execute tasks with precision.
• Eagerness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities.
• Criminal background check required and must be bondable.
• Knowledge of wine or a strong willingness to learn about it is an asset.
