Position Overview:The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing our financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and driving cost efficiencies. Key Responsibilities:
- Full Cycle Accounting: Oversee the entire accounting operations ensuring accuracy and finding efficiencies.
- Inventory Management: Tighten inventory processes and improve cost accounting to ensure accurate tracking and control.
- Financial Leadership: Manage bank and credit card reconciliations, audit responsibilities, manual checks, and year-end financial processes.
- Expense Management: Identify and implement cost-saving measures across areas such as phones, alarms, and IT systems.
- Cash Conversion Cycle: Optimize the cash conversion cycle to improve financial efficiency.
- Project Accounting: Apply costing and project accounting expertise to support building and construction operations.
- Business Transformation: Evaluate current systems and processes, recommending and implementing IT upgrades to enhance efficiency.
- Trust & Relationships: Build strong relationships with ownership and team members, ensuring alignment with the company's culture and goals.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of four direct reports and other indirect reports, providing guidance and support in day-to-day operations.
- Advisory Role: Interpret financial data to guide decision-making and advise on accounting matters, ensuring compliance with industry standards and family business dynamics.

Requirements- CPA designation (or working towards CPA) is required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting roles, ideally within the building supplies or construction industry.
- Strong background in inventory management, cost accounting, and project costing.
- Proficiency in accounting software and IT systems.
- Proven ability to identify and implement cost-saving strategies.
- Experience managing audits and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Exceptional analytical, evaluative, and advisory skills.
- Ability to handle both business and personal financial matters in a family business context.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Competitive salary: $80,000–$120,000 annually, depending on experience.
