What is the opportunity?
Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. GFT’s impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions. Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking, and Wealth Management.We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.
What will you do?- Design and implementation of database schemas, tables, and relationships.
- Ensuring data integrity and consistency.
- Monitoring database performance and identifying bottlenecks.
- Optimizing database configurations and query execution plans.
- Diagnosing and resolving database issues, such as crashes or slow performance.
- Working with developers to identify and fix problems.
- Working with different processes to move data between systems.
- Collaborating with developers to design and implement new features.
- Working with IT project managers and other technical staff.
- Collaborating with enterprise DBAs for issue analysis, solution, debugging.
- Working with IT for various DB upgrades
- Planning for future database needs, including storage and performance requirements.
- Maintaining documentation for database schemas, procedures, and security policies.
- Work closely with Data scientists and data analysts to understand the data needs and optimize data.
- Develop code/ scripts/ stored procedures/ triggers in line with strategic initiatives, as well as troubleshoot, enhance, and document components, as per the requirements and detailed design.
- Work in an Agile environment.
- Conduct thorough unit testing, often developing and leveraging automated unit testing frameworks, and improve performance of single functions through performance tuning.
- Estimate activities/tasks required to perform design, coding, and unit testing.
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have:
- 7+ year’s experience and knowledge with DB2, NoSQL/SQL databases.
- Experience in working with DB tools like DB Visualizer.
- Experience with DevOps , CD/CI tools- Jenkins, GitHub, Automated Testing tools, or similar tools
- Strong understanding of AIX/Linux environment and scripting.
- Background working in Fraud and AML
- Python experience
