Overview:Are you passionate about teaching and preserving the Igbo language and culture? We are seeking a dedicated Igbo Language Instructor to teach children not only how to speak and write in Igbo but also to understand and appreciate the rich traditions and customs of the Igbo people.
Job Responsibilities:
- Teach spoken and written Igbo to children in an engaging and interactive manner.
- Incorporate storytelling, songs, proverbs, and cultural activities to make learning fun and immersive.
- Introduce Igbo traditions, customs, and history to deepen their understanding of their heritage.
- Provide structured lesson plans tailored to the children's age and proficiency level.
- Use creative teaching methods, including games, multimedia resources, and real-life conversations.
Requirements:
- Fluency in Igbo (spoken and written).
- Prior experience teaching Igbo to children (preferred but not required).
- A strong understanding of Igbo traditions, customs, and cultural practices.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for language and cultural education.
- Ability to create a warm and engaging learning environment.
Contract length: 24 months
Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
