We are currently looking for 4 full-time, hardworking and motivated Construction Labourer/Pipefitter Assistants to join our team.

Job Duties:

  • Assist subcontractors and trades in the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex piping systems specific to petroleum infrastructure.
  • Prepare and maintain work areas, ensuring all tools and materials are organized and accessible.
  • Load and unload construction materials, transporting them to designated work areas.
  • Measure, cut, and thread pipes using specialized hand and power tools, adhering to precise specifications.
  • Support the assembly and installation of building and piping systems, ensuring compliance with industry safety standards and project specifications.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and tools, ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Follow stringent safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment to prevent accidents and ensure project integrity.
  • Assist in the inspection and testing of piping systems for leaks and other issues, utilizing industry-standard testing methods.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure project timelines and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Complete project activities as directed by the Construction Leads and Project Managers
  • Install, test, and commission petroleum equipment as per regulatory requirements and manufacturer’s instructions and procedures
  • Work with sub-contractors to complete project tasks for additional disciplines as required (electrical, excavation, concrete, civil)
  • Work with OPW flexible piping products (experience/certification required).
  • Work with Franklin fuel products and APT pipe (experience/certification required).
  • Operate a Rigid threading machine (knowledge required).

Skills Required:

  • 1-2 years of previous petroleum and commercial construction experience.
  • Proven ability to independently operate and maintain construction equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Proven ability to follow direction, work independently and as part of a team.
  • English oral communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and reliability in recording and documenting.
  • Ability to use various mobile apps for time and record keeping.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license, clean driver’s abstract, and insurance experience letter.
  • Experience with OPW flexible piping products.
  • Experience with Franklin fuel products and APT pipe.
  • Ability to operate a Rigid threading machine.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and schematics.

Wages and Benefits:

Wages as a Construction Labourer/Pipefitter Assistant are $26.00 hourly for 40 hours per week plus overtime, as may be required. After completing the probationary period, you will also be entitled to the following benefits:

  • Alberta Blue Cross Health/Dental/Vision coverage;
  • Short term/Long term disability insurance; and
  • RRSP plan.

Location:

As a Construction Labourer/Pipefitter Assistant you are required to have your own reliable transportation to get to and from various job sites in the Edmonton and surrounding areas. Our head office is located at 17505 – 109A Avenue, Edmonton, AB T5S 2W4.
