Adecco is actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Quality Assurance Manager to join a leading company in the food industry based in Scarborough, ON. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to oversee and enhance quality systems, ensuring regulatory compliance and food safety standards are met.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in managing Quality Management Systems (QMS) and will have a strong understanding of food science regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with regulatory and certification standards such as BRCGS, SQF, FSMA, and HACCP.
  • Ensuring that all documentation, including policies, procedures, and records, are accurate, up-to-date, and accessible.
  • Leading internal audits to monitor adherence to quality standards and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Preparing the organization for third-party audits and inspections by regulatory agencies.
  • Overseeing the effective implementation of HACCP plans and food safety protocols.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to mitigate food safety risks and implement corrective actions.
  • Evaluating and monitoring the quality of suppliers and raw materials.
  • Conducting supplier audits and maintaining supplier approval documentation.
  • Analyzing QA data to identify trends and implementing solutions to enhance product quality and compliance.
  • Working on cross-departmental projects to optimize processes and improve customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science. Diploma from a recognized Canadian university is required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in QA systems within the food industry.
  • Deep knowledge of food safety standards, including BRCGS, SQF, HACCP, and FSMA.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (FDA, CFIA, USDA, etc.).
  • Proficiency in QA software and systems for tracking compliance and reporting.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Certification in HACCP, PCQI, or equivalent is an asset.
