  • oriented and analytical GIS Student to assist in enhancing our geographic information system (GIS) database.
This is a great opportunity to gain proficiency in ArcGIS while helping the City meet its NG911 requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create sub-addresses for large complexes to ensure accurate location data for emergency services.
  • Determine building heights and floors for high-rise towers to assist in emergency response planning.
  • Map town-house condo units to improve address accuracy and emergency response times.
  • Identify and map unnamed streets to enhance the completeness of our GIS database.
  • Develop common names for locations to facilitate easier identification and communication.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Assist with other related GIS tasks as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a Geography, GIS, Urban Planning, or related program.
  • Strong understanding of GIS principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
Hourly Rate/Salary: 19.80
