Project Manager (Substations)
We are currently looking to add a Project Manager to our Substations team, based in Calgary, AB.
Reporting to the Project Management Lead, the Project Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and complete execution of projects to the satisfaction of the Customer. The Project Manager is first contact point for the Customer and reviews the progress / provides guidance as required for changes necessary to the execution plan.
Responsibilities:
Manage Projects Start Up- Help establish resource requirements for projects
- Coordinate with customer to determine timing for site work to commence
- Establish and prepare reporting requirements for the projects
- Coordinate personnel training requirements with Construction Supevisors
- Oversee initial startup documents to customers and coordinate initial start-up meetings for projects
- Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables
- Lead the planning and implementation of project
- Work with Project Coordinators to oversee the detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
- Successfully manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
- Work with Construction Supervisors and all other team members to ensure the successful execution of project (provide direction and support to project team)
- Ensure status of the project is communicated appropriately to all stakeholders and participating parties
- Monitor Progress, Costs (management accounting and forecasting), Quality and Scope on projects and identify deviations to customers and construction team
- Prepare and submit weekly reports to GM and monthly progress invoices
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks
- Oversee final packages for submittal to customer and for Valard records
- Oversee final Invoice
- Identify final scope and final cost and revenue on the project
- Project evaluations and assessment of results
- Provide input into the Estimating process and assist in submittal of proposals
- Review Submittal Packages
- Support development of safety procedures & plans
- Review Submittals and Estimates with customers
- Post-Secondary degree in Engineering, Commerce, Construction Management
- 7 years experience as a Project Manager
- Proven track record of successful Project Management of construction projects in excess of $20 million
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Linear construction experience considered an asset
- Professional Engineer, CET or other applicable certification is considered an asset
