Reporting to: Director of Care RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Director of Care, the HCA will: Provide personal assistance and support services for residents Provide essential and important daily living support and comfort to residents including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting and all other ADL’s.
Communicate resident care needs, observations and concerns to professional staff. Involved in the orientation and mentorship of new HCA staff and students Interact with residents/families and other team members regarding any care needs Work collaboratively within the interdisciplinary team Health Care Aide Certification or subsequent equivalency required (LPN students who have completed first year, BScN students who have completed second year) Experience working within a long-term care setting an asset Strong organization, time management and communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively within the team Strong communication skills --- ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English Time Type: Part time When you choose to build your career with Extendicare, you’re joining a team dedicated to making a difference.
