Food Services Manager
Our client, The Bethania Group, is seeking two Managers of Food Services to join their team!

Positions are available at Concordia Ave. and Pembina Hwy. locations.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure menu planning is done according to Personal Care Standards in conjunction with the Director of Food and Support Services and the Dietician
- Ensures the delivery of food and service is in a manner that meets the requirements of the Department of Health Guidelines, and the standards of The Bethania Group
- Ensure all food and supplies are on site at the appropriate times
- Responsible for supervision of food service areas, procurement of specific resident related products, management of clinical and regular diets
- Responsible for monitoring financial and operating controls, record keeping methods and contributes to budget planning
- Assumes leadership role in promoting and maintaining an effective team approach
- Created an environment that encourages and supports creativity, innovation, critical thinking and a healthy workplace environment
- Conducts regular audits for PCH standards and follows up with staff for corrective actions
- Daily cash out amounts including debit transactions, meal card funds
- Responsible for planning and executing Catering functions
- Responsible for the continued development of the Catering Services and Menus and its promotion and implementation
- Hiring – interviews, selects, hires and trains new staff
- Performance Evaluations of Food Services Staff in accordance with The Bethania Group’s 360º Employee Performance Reviews
- Ensure Safe Work Procedures are in place and being followed
- Ensure staffing is done in accordance with MGEU Collective Agreement and The Bethania Group’s policies
- Coding invoices and submitting to the Director of Food and Support Services in a timely manner
- This position is an out-of-scope position reporting to the Director of Food and Support Services
- Ability to work in a noisy hot, humid environment as well as cold “walk in” fridges and freezers
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Two years community college diploma in Culinary Arts Program and/or equivalent experience
- Minimum 1 year supervising and directing in a team environment is required
- WHMIS
- Current Certified Food Handler Certificate
- ASL certified or willingness to enroll and complete the next available training program
- Minimum 1 year experience with purchasing, costing, and monthly statistics relevant to a yearly budget is required
- A demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively use a computer to perform necessary tasks
- Ability to prioritize workload and attend to operations in an efficient and timely manner
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills required
- Ability to write in the English language, as well as read and speak the English language
- Discreet and confidential in staff matters and business matters
- Adherence to principles of food safety, sanitation practices are mandatory as well as understanding of safe work practices
- Work experience in a health care kitchen environment is an asset
