General Information:

A temporary part time Cashier Receptionist position is available until June 28, 2025 in the Ticket Centre at the Cowichan Community Centre within the Community Services Department at the Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD). Reporting to the Administration & Facility Bookings Coordinator, the Cashier Receptionist is responsible for the reception duties within the Cowichan Community Centre at the Ticket Centre.

This includes meeting and greeting the public, answering telephone and in-person inquiries, routing information, and performing a variety of other tasks such as program registration, ticket sales, and merchandise sales.

Qualifications:

  • Secondary school graduation plus cash / clerical / computer training, or an equivalent amount of education, training, and experience.
  • Related experience, in a customer services capacity and working with cash and balancing daily cash receipts, or equivalent combination of skills, education, and training.
  • Familiarity with the operation of standard business equipment, including computers and a multi-line telephone system.
  • Occupational First Aid Level 1 with CPR

Hours of Work:

This temporary part time position is guaranteed 17.5 hours of work per week and may be scheduled up to 35 hours of work per week based on meeting operational needs. Due to the nature of the work, it will be necessary to work a variety of shifts including days and evenings on weekdays and weekends.

Salary:

The wage rate is in 3 steps as per the Collective Agreement between the CVRD and CUPE Local 358, $24.84 ‑ $25.51 ‑ $26.28 per hour (2024 rates). Benefits are included as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.
